Q. I am not creative in the least. The work looks overwhelming. Will I be able to learn?
A. Designing candles takes knowledge and a long time of working and understanding the medium. Sometimes a mistake can be a new technique or simply an idea evolves over time. However teaching someone is simply showing them a formula. That formula could have taken years to discover but can be taught in minutes.
Q. Im not good at remembering so much information. Will I forget everything?
A. The course comes with telephone or e-mail assistance for 1 year. When we teach a new technique you will take a photograph of the candle along with the candle to keep plus the written formula.
Q. There is a lot of candle making information in books and on the internet, why do I need to pay someone to teach me?
A. Making candles as a hobby is one thing, making candles to start a business is another. Candle making is a trade and any trade needs to be taught thoroughly its not just about design, it's understanding all aspects of the business. When you start a new business you want all the information you can get and its obviously a much better option to be taught by someone that has years of experience actively participating in that market.
Q. Can I make money with this?
A. You will be learning a new trade and have the possibility of a return on investment in 6 months. It will be possible to open your own shop or supply wholesale or to design specifically for people. You will have the knowledge to employ people for mass production if needed. Candles that cost 2 euros can retail at 30 euros.
Q. Is this a franchise?
A. No. Once you have graduated from the course there are no commissions on your sales.
Q. How do I know there wont be someone in my area that has been taught the same techniques as I have learnt ?
A. The candle market is a huge market but we are very strict on who is taught and where they intend to sell. Before being accepted we make sure that there is no one in your area before we can give you an exclusivity, if there is we cannot except you.
Q. Will my designs be generic?
A. Absolutely not. It is very difficult to patent a candle design, someone can change a colour or a pouring temperature and they have a different candle from the same formula. In our experience even the most unartistic person has shown us new ideas which simply comes from their individuality and imagination. Once you have learned a technique it gives you a of freedom to increase your design potential even if you think you have none.
Q. Obviously the earning potential is important but is this a profession that is enjoyable?
A. Most definatly. To work in a profession that you dont enjoy just to earn money is never satisfying. Out of the many employees I have had over the years I can honestly say I have never had anyone say they never enjoyed it. It is an incredibly creative and diverse profession with limitless potential financially and creatively.
